Quick and easy scones with the irresistible flavors of cinnamon rolls, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold, cubed unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Blend in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined.
  5. Create the cinnamon-sugar mixture by mixing together ground cinnamon and brown sugar in a small bowl.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1-inch thick, and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over it.
  7. Fold the dough a couple of times to create layers, then shape it into a circle about 1-inch thick.
  8. Cut the dough into 8 wedges using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with butter or icing. These scones can be customized with chocolate chips or nuts.
