A festive and elegant appetizer featuring creamy Brie cheese, cranberry sauce, and chopped nuts wrapped in flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 round of Brie cheese (about 8 ounces)
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs, for garnish
  • Sea salt, for sprinkling
  • Flour, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to smooth out any creases and make it a bit larger.
  3. Place the round of Brie in the center of the pastry.
  4. Spread the cranberry sauce evenly over the top of the Brie.
  5. Sprinkle the chopped pecans or walnuts over the cranberry sauce.
  6. Carefully fold the edges of the puff pastry over the Brie, pinching the seams to seal it well. Trim any excess pastry if necessary.
  7. Carefully flip the wrapped Brie over so the seam is on the bottom.
  8. Place the wrapped Brie in the center of a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Brush the top and edges of the pastry with the beaten egg to give it a lovely golden color while baking.
  10. Using a sharp knife, make small slits in the pastry to allow steam to escape.
  11. Sprinkle a tiny pinch of sea salt on top of the pastry for flavor.
  12. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
  13. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5-10 minutes.
  14. Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs before serving for a festive touch.
  15. Serve warm with crackers, sliced apples, or baguette slices for dipping.

Notes

Feel free to substitute the cranberry sauce with fig jam or experiment with different nuts or cheese varieties. Can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
