A rich and indulgent chocolate lava cake with a gooey molten center that delights every chocolate lover.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with unsalted butter and dust with flour.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate together in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments until smooth.
  3. Whisk the eggs and egg yolks with sugar until pale and slightly thickened.
  4. Combine the melted chocolate mixture with the egg mixture until well incorporated.
  5. Incorporate the flour and salt, folding gently until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter among the prepared ramekins.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are firm and centers remain soft.
  8. Cool for 1 minute, then invert onto plates and serve immediately.

Notes
