Indulge in this delightful Chocolate Lava Cake with a warm, gooey center that flows like liquid chocolate. Perfect for special occasions or a cozy night in!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins generously with butter and place them on a baking tray.
  2. Melt the chocolate chips and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  3. Stir in the powdered sugar until thoroughly combined, resulting in a thick and rich mixture.
  4. Add the eggs and egg yolks to the chocolate mixture, mixing until smooth. Then, incorporate the vanilla extract.
  5. Gently fold in the flour and a pinch of salt until just combined, taking care not to overmix.
  6. Divide the cake batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.
  7. Bake for about 12-14 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
  8. Let the cakes cool in their ramekins for 1 minute before carefully inverting onto plates.

Notes

For serving, pair the cake warm with vanilla ice cream, fresh berries, or a drizzle of raspberry sauce.
