A nostalgic recipe for classic chocolate chip cookies that are perfectly chewy and crispy.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually blend the dry mixture into the creamed mixture.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly dispersed.
  7. Drop cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
  9. Cool the cookies on wire racks.

Notes

For chewier cookies, slightly under-bake them. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
