A comforting Chicken Parmesan Casserole that combines juicy chicken with marinara sauce and layers of melted cheese, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the shredded chicken, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and season with salt and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with a bit of oil or cooking spray and spread half of the chicken mixture evenly across the bottom.
  4. Sprinkle one cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the chicken layer.
  5. Spoon the remaining chicken mixture on top of the cheese layer, spreading it out to cover.
  6. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Serve over cooked pasta if using, and garnish with fresh basil.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider making your own marinara sauce. You can also use rotisserie chicken for convenience.
