A classic Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe featuring chicken breasts wrapped around ham and Swiss cheese, baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Flatten the chicken breasts to about 1/2 inch thick using a meat mallet.
  3. Assemble the rolls by placing a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast.
  4. Roll up each breast tightly and secure with toothpicks.
  5. Dredge each chicken roll in flour.
  6. Dip each roll in the beaten eggs.
  7. Coat each chicken roll with breadcrumbs.
  8. Brown the chicken in a frying pan over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side.
  9. Bake the chicken rolls in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
  10. Remove toothpicks, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Serve with a light salad or mashed potatoes. Leftovers can be used for sandwiches.
