Delightful chewy pecan bars that combine buttery richness with nutty goodness, perfect for sharing or enjoying with a cup of tea.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Butter (Salted or unsalted, melted)
  • 1/2 cup White Sugar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla (Pure vanilla extract recommended)
  • 2 large Eggs (Room temperature)
  • 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour (Can substitute with gluten-free flour)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder (Ensure it’s fresh)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt (Adjust if using salted butter)
  • 1 cup Pecans (Chopped and can be toasted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Melt your butter until it’s nicely liquefied.
  4. Add the white sugar and brown sugar into the melted butter. Stir thoroughly, then mix in the vanilla.
  5. Crack in the eggs and whisk everything together until smooth.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  8. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  9. Pour the batter into your prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  10. Bake in your preheated oven for 22-25 minutes.
  11. Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes.
  12. Slice your Chewy Pecan Chewies into bars or squares.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
