A comforting dish that combines creamy cheese and fluffy rice, perfect for family dinners or soul-soothing meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of rice
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of butter

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water to remove excess starch.
  2. Boil the 4 cups of water in a pot.
  3. Add the rice and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the boiling water.
  4. Simmer the rice by reducing the heat, covering the pot for 18-20 minutes.
  5. Rest the rice for 5 minutes off the heat, covered.
  6. Melt the tablespoon of butter in a separate pan over low heat.
  7. Add in the 1/2 cup of cream and stir to combine.
  8. Incorporate the shredded cheddar cheese into the cream, stirring until it’s melted.
  9. Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and mix in the cheesy sauce until well-coated.

Notes

For a spicy twist, try using pepper jack cheese or add sautéed vegetables for extra flavor.
