A tantalizing carne asada dish with juicy, tender steak marinated in a zesty lime and garlic mixture, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak or skirt steak
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Tortillas, for serving

Instructions

  1. Whisk together olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Place the flank or skirt steak in a large resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it.
  3. Preheat your grill over high heat.
  4. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side for a medium-rare finish.
  5. Let the steak rest for a few minutes after grilling.
  6. Slice the steak thinly against the grain and serve with fresh cilantro, warm tortillas, and favorite toppings!

Notes

Marinate overnight for deeper flavors. A hot grill is essential for best results.
