  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped apples (about 2 small apples)
  • 1 cup caramel bits or soft caramel candies, cut into smaller pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients with the wet, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped apples and caramel bits.
  7. Scoop rounded dough balls onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
  9. Cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best flavor, use a mix of sweet and tart apples. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
