A simple and delicious Italian bruschetta that brings the taste of summer to your table.

Ingredients

  • 1 Baguette or Italian bread
  • 2 cups Tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup Fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.
  3. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and brush them with olive oil.
  4. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Chop the tomatoes and mix them with minced garlic, chopped basil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  6. Spoon the tomato mixture onto the toasted bread slices.
  7. Drizzle with more olive oil and serve immediately.

Notes

For the best flavor, use the ripest tomatoes you can find. Serve as a starter with chilled white wine.
