  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter (for gravy)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 lbs russet potatoes (peeled and cubed)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter (for mashed potatoes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 20 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
  5. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat; add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  6. Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; stir until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  8. Boil cubed potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  9. Drain the potatoes, then mash with milk and butter until smooth.
  10. Serve meatballs over mashed potatoes and drizzle with brown gravy, garnished with parsley.

Notes

For moist meatballs, avoid overmixing and consider adding a splash of milk. Leftover meatballs can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
