A slow-cooked beef brisket that melts in your mouth, flavored with aromatic herbs and a hint of sweetness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 45 pounds beef brisket
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon thyme
  • 1 tablespoon rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
  3. Season the brisket generously with salt and pepper and sear it in the skillet until browned on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. Transfer the seared brisket to a roasting pan and prepare the braising liquid in the same skillet.
  5. Pour the mixture over the brisket, cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil, and place it in the oven.
  6. Cook for 3-4 hours, until the brisket is fork-tender.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
  8. Serve with creamy mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the brisket overnight with spices and sauces. A well-marbled brisket yields the best tenderness.
