A delightful twist on classic French toast combining bourbon, vanilla, and crispy bacon for an extraordinary breakfast experience.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of brioche bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 strips of bacon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • Butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the eggs, milk, bourbon, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Soak the brioche slices in the mixture for about 5 minutes on each side.
  3. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and chop into pieces.
  4. Melt butter in the same skillet and cook the soaked brioche slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Serve the French toast topped with crispy bacon and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Notes

Use slightly stale brioche for best results. You can replace bourbon with rum or omit it for a non-alcoholic version.
