Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Fold in the blueberries gently.
  5. Whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until well-combined.
  6. Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Knead the dough gently on a lightly floured surface.
  8. Pat the dough into a circle roughly one inch thick and cut into wedges.
  9. Place the wedges on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  10. Serve warm.
