Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
  • 12 teaspoons blue food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon raspberry extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 68 lemons)
  • 45 cups cold water (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Extra fresh raspberries and lemon slices for garnish
  • Fun straws
  • Mason jars or tall glasses
  • Optional: fresh mint sprigs
  • Vodka (1-2 oz per glass)
  • Blue curaçao
  • Prosecco or Sprite

Instructions

  1. Create Your Raspberry Syrup: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Add raspberries and simmer for about 5 minutes. Strain the syrup.
  2. Add the Magic Touch: Return the cooled syrup to the saucepan. Stir in blue food coloring, raspberry extract, and salt.
  3. Juice Those Lemons: Squeeze fresh lemon juice until you have about 1 cup, removing any seeds.
  4. Mix It All Together: In a large pitcher, combine raspberry syrup, lemon juice, and 4-5 cups of cold water. Adjust sweetness or tartness as desired.
  5. Chill and Serve: Fill glasses with ice and pour the lemonade over. Garnish as desired.
  6. Optional Adult Twist: Add vodka, blue curaçao, or top with Prosecco or Sprite.
