These blackened shrimp skewers are quick to make, bursting with flavor, and always a crowd-pleaser, perfect for summer barbecues.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Skewers (wooden or metal)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Combine the olive oil, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.
  3. Coat the shrimp with the spice mixture.
  4. Thread the shrimp onto skewers, soaking wooden skewers beforehand if needed.
  5. Grill for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are opaque and slightly charred.
  6. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.

Notes

For best results, allow shrimp to marinate in the spice mixture for 20-30 minutes before grilling.
