Delicious and flavorful blackened fish tacos that bring the spirit of summer to your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 2 fish fillets (such as tilapia or snapper)
  • 2 tablespoons blackening seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Rub the fish fillets with blackening seasoning on both sides.
  3. Add olive oil to the skillet and sear the fish for about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove the fish from the skillet and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  5. Warm the tortillas in a separate pan or microwave until soft and pliable.
  6. Assemble the tacos by layering the fish, shredded cabbage, sliced avocado, diced tomatoes, and chopped cilantro on each tortilla.
  7. Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

These tacos pair wonderfully with a side of black beans or a refreshing corn salad.
