A simple yet delicious blend of chicken, mushrooms, and black pepper that brings the family together for a delightful meal.

  • 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • Steamed rice or noodles for serving

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, toss the sliced chicken with soy sauce and cornstarch. Allow it to marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. Heat the oil: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Stir-Fry the chicken: Add the marinated chicken to the skillet. Stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Sauté aromatics and mushrooms: In the same pan, add the minced garlic, ginger, and sliced mushrooms. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Combine and simmer: Return the chicken to the pan, sprinkle it with black pepper, and pour in the chicken broth. Stir well and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  6. Serve it up: Serve hot over bowls of steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For added texture, sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving. Can substitute chicken with tofu or add bell peppers for more nutrients.
