A comforting classic featuring tender beef, savory mushrooms, and a creamy sauce over egg noodles.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter or oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles or rice for serving

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat the butter or oil over medium heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until they are soft and fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are tender, about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture, stirring to combine, and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Gradually add the beef broth, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  6. Lower the heat and stir in the sour cream, returning the browned beef to the skillet.
  7. Serve your delicious Beef Stroganoff over egg noodles or rice.
