A comforting dish featuring tender beef in a creamy sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or special gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced into strips
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles or rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add the beef strips and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in the mushrooms and cook until tender.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Gradually add the beef broth, stirring continuously, until the mixture thickens.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the sour cream.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice.

Notes

Leftover Beef Stroganoff can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of water or broth if necessary. For longer storage, consider freezing for up to 3 months.
