A comforting Beef and Broccoli dish featuring tender beef and vibrant broccoli in a savory sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef (sliced thinly against the grain)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it’s shimmering.
  2. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until browned.
  3. Remove the beef and set aside.
  4. Add minced garlic to the skillet and stir-fry for about 30 seconds.
  5. Introduce the broccoli florets and stir-fry until bright green and tender-crisp, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Return the browned beef to the skillet.
  7. Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and cornstarch-water in a bowl, then pour over beef and broccoli.
  8. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve hot over rice.

Notes

For best flavor, serve over jasmine or basmati rice. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
