Delicious and fluffy Bavarian cream donuts that are perfect for any celebration or indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for glazing

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Whisk together the milk, eggs, and melted butter in another bowl.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the hot oil, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Create the Bavarian cream by whipping heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then folding in pudding mix and vanilla extract.
  7. Fill the cooled donuts with Bavarian cream using a pastry bag.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing cinnamon into the powdered sugar before dusting. Ensure oil is at the right temperature for frying.
