A delightful fusion of traditional baklava and creamy cheesecake, layered with phyllo dough and rich nuts.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups crushed walnuts or pistachios
  • 1 cup phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the melted butter with the crushed nuts, honey, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Layer 5 sheets of phyllo dough in a greased cheesecake pan, brushing each with melted butter.
  4. Spread the nut mixture evenly over the phyllo dough.
  5. Beat the cream cheese with sugar until smooth.
  6. Add the Greek yogurt, eggs, and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
  7. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the nut layer, spreading it evenly.
  8. Overlay with the remaining phyllo sheets, brushing each with butter.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes until set.
  10. Let cool, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

Serve with a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Pairs well with coffee or tea.
