A warm and comforting dish made with ziti pasta, marinara sauce, ricotta, and a blend of cheeses, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Ziti pasta
  • Marinara sauce
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Ground beef or sausage
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Onion (diced)
  • Olive oil
  • Italian seasoning
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Sauté onions and garlic in a skillet with olive oil over medium heat until softened.
  4. Brown the ground beef or sausage in the skillet until browned; drain excess fat.
  5. Prepare the sauce by stirring in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, then let it simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Combine cooked ziti, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese in a large bowl.
  7. Mix in the meat sauce with the ziti mixture until combined.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Allow the Baked Ziti to rest for a few minutes after baking for better slicing. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
