A simple yet decadent dessert featuring tender baked pears filled with a berry mixture and drizzled with honey.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe but firm pears (Bosc or Bartlett)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter or coconut oil
  • 1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
  • 23 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup)
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • Greek yogurt, whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream for serving
  • Extra honey for drizzling
  • Chopped nuts (walnuts, pistachios, almonds) — optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Halve the pears lengthwise and scoop out the core with a spoon to create a small cavity. Brush the cut sides with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. Place pear halves in a baking dish, cut side up. Brush lightly with melted butter or coconut oil to help them soften as they bake.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the berries, honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spoon the mixture into each pear cavity, letting some berries spill over the sides for that rustic charm.
  4. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 15-20 minutes until the pears are tender and the berries are bubbling, filling your kitchen with warmth and sweetness.
  5. Serve warm with a dollop of Greek yogurt, a swirl of whipped cream, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Drizzle with extra honey and sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired for that extra crunch.

Notes

Choose pears that are ripe but still firm to maintain their shape. You can prepare the pears and filling ahead of time and store them in the fridge until ready to bake.
