Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Cinnamon Sugar Mixture
  • 1 can Vegetable Oil Spray
  • Butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients for the Base: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, butter, brown sugar, and salt. Heat until the mixture reaches a simmer.
  2. Form the Churro Dough: Add all of the all-purpose flour at once to the simmering liquid. Stir vigorously until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cool and Flavor the Dough: Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the dough to cool for approximately 10 minutes. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Incorporate the Eggs: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition until the dough is smooth.
  5. Prepare for Baking: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Pipe the Churros: Pipe 3-4 inch strips of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Create a Crisp Exterior: Lightly spray the piped churro dough strips with vegetable oil.
  8. Bake to Perfection: Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown, then leave them inside the oven with the door slightly ajar for 10 minutes.
  9. Coat in Butter and Sugar: Brush the warm churros liberally with melted butter and roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  10. Serve Warm: Enjoy your Baked Churro Bites immediately while warm.
