  • 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Combine the cubed bread and diced apples in a large mixing bowl; set aside.
  3. Whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the liquid mixture over the bread and apples, ensuring all pieces are coated. Let it soak for about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Transfer everything into the prepared baking dish and drizzle the melted butter over the top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
