A heartwarming and visually stunning dish of creamy mashed potatoes filled with a savory ground beef mixture, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3–5 large potatoes
  • 3.5 tbsp (50 g) butter
  • A bunch of fresh dill
  • Salt
  • Smoked paprika
  • Black pepper
  • Oregano
  • 1.1 lbs (500 g) ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 large tomato

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) to create the perfect environment for baking those golden nests.
  2. Boil the potatoes until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain and mash them with butter, fresh dill, salt, smoked paprika, black pepper, and oregano until smooth and creamy.
  3. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic in a skillet until fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Brown the ground beef in the skillet until it’s browned, stirring occasionally—approximately 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the diced red bell pepper and chopped tomato, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  6. Form the mashed potatoes into nests on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Fill each nest with the beef and vegetable mixture, spooning generously.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.
  9. Serve warm, garnished with extra dill if desired.

Notes

These nests can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes until warmed through.
