Delightfully soft and chewy cookies with colorful M&Ms, perfect for a cozy day in the kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup M&Ms (regular and mini mix)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare baking sheets. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk the dry ingredients. In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt then set aside.
  3. Cream the butter and sugars. In another bowl, cream the softened butter with packed brown sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix just until combined.
  5. Fold in the M&Ms until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Portion the dough. Scoop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
  7. Bake until golden. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden, but the centers remain soft.
  8. Cool slightly. Allow the cookies to cool slightly on the baking sheets before transferring them to plates.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
