A hearty and comforting dish of slow-cooked, tender pulled beef with smoky barbecue flavors, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 34 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 45 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your choice)
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Slice the onion and mince the garlic.
  2. Sear the chuck roast in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned on all sides.
  3. Transfer the seared roast to your slow cooker and layer it with the sliced onions and minced garlic.
  4. Pour your barbecue sauce over the beef, coating it generously.
  5. Add enough beef broth to cover half of the roast.
  6. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  7. Cover and set the slow cooker to cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
  8. Shred the beef with two forks once cooking is complete and mix it well with the sauce.

Notes

Searing the roast enhances flavor. Experiment with different barbecue sauces for variety.
