A delightful and quick lemon pasta dish infused with garlic and Parmesan, perfect for weeknight dinners or impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces spaghetti or linguine
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Zest and juice of 1 large lemon (about 2 tablespoons juice)
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until it’s al dente. Reserve 1 cup of starchy pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté the Garlic: Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add Lemon Zest and Juice: Stir in fresh lemon zest and juice; season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Combine Pasta with the Sauce: Drain pasta and add it directly to the pan with the garlic and lemon sauce. Toss until well-coated, adding reserved pasta water to achieve desired creaminess.
  5. Final Touch with Parmesan: Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan until melted and creamy.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, and serve immediately.
