A delightful and simple recipe featuring fresh strawberries wrapped in flaky puff pastry, perfect for brunch or a sweet treat.

  • 1 package of puff pastry
  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it’s about 1/8 inch thick, then cut it into squares, roughly 4×4 inches.
  3. Combine the sliced strawberries with the sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl.
  4. Place a generous spoonful of the strawberry mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Fold the corners of the pastry squares over the filling.
  6. Whisk the egg and brush it over the folded pastry.
  7. Bake the pastries for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
