Delicious homemade mozzarella cheese sticks with a crispy exterior and gooey center, perfect for snacking or sharing.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut the mozzarella cheese into sticks, about 3 inches long and 1/2 inch thick.
  2. Set up a breading station with flour mixed with salt and pepper, beaten eggs, and bread crumbs.
  3. Dip each cheese stick into flour, shake off excess, then coat in beaten egg, and finally roll in bread crumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until ready.
  5. Fry the cheese sticks in batches for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve warm with marinara sauce.

Notes

For extra flavor, add Italian herbs to the bread crumbs or try different cheeses for a twist.
