Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Combine the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture into the butter-sugar blend, stirring until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing it evenly.
  8. Spoon dollops of cookie dough over the brownie layer.
  9. Swirl the cookie dough into the brownie batter with a knife.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Let the brookies cool in the pan before cutting them into bars.
