Delightful beignets filled with rich hazelnut cream, perfect for brunch or special gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil, for frying
  • 1 cup hazelnut spread (like Nutella)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Combine the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
  2. Mix the Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
  3. Create the Dough: Pour the wet mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined.
  4. Heat the Oil: In a deep skillet, pour enough oil to fill it about 3 inches deep. Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the Beignets: Using a spoon or a small cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Drain and Cool: Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried beignets to a plate lined with paper towels to drain.
  7. Fill with Hazelnut Cream: Once cooled enough to handle, use a piping bag to fill each beignet with hazelnut spread.
  8. Dust with Powdered Sugar: Generously dust the filled beignets with powdered sugar before serving.
