Rich, decadent brownies layered with a creamy cheesecake topping, perfect for chocolate lovers.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (45g) cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 8 oz (226g) cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  4. Combine the sugar with the melted butter, then add the eggs and vanilla extract.
  5. Mix the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the butter mixture until just mixed.
  7. Make the cheesecake mixture by beating the cream cheese and sugar until creamy, then add the egg and vanilla.
  8. Layer half of the brownie batter, then spoon the cheesecake mixture on top, and finish with the remaining brownie batter.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  10. Cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
