These brownies combine the boldness of coffee with the sweetness of chocolate, creating a symphony of flavors that’s simply irresistible.

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee granules
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Beat in the flour, cocoa, salt, and instant coffee until well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Let cool completely in the pan.
  7. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth for the frosting.
  8. Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies.
  9. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

For fudgy brownies, check them a minute or two before the baking time is up. The chocolate should be gooey and moist, not dry.
