Quick and comforting empanadas filled with spiced beef and cheese, wrapped in flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (like cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Sauté the onion and garlic until they become translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef, cumin, salt, and pepper; cook until the beef is browned.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into circles.
  5. Place a tablespoon of the beef mixture and a sprinkle of cheese in the center of each circle.
  6. Fold the pastry over to form a half-moon shape and seal the edges.
  7. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite dip.
