A luxurious cake featuring layers of rich dark and white chocolate mousse, perfect for celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 8 ounces white chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
  2. Mix together the flour, cocoa powder, and pinch of salt.
  3. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine the dry mixture with the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let it cool completely.
  7. Heat 1 cup of heavy cream until just boiling, then pour over the chopped semi-sweet chocolate; let it sit for 5 minutes before stirring until smooth.
  8. Whip the remaining cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  9. Fold half of the whipped cream into the cooled chocolate ganache.
  10. Repeat the melting process with white chocolate and fold it into the remaining whipped cream.
  11. Layer the chocolate mousse and white chocolate mousse between the cooled cake layers, then chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or fresh berries for an added touch.
