A comforting dish that merges the classic flavors of a French dip sandwich into a portable tortilla roll-up.

Ingredients

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded roast beef
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup sautéed onions
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Spread the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard evenly over each tortilla.
  2. Layer thick slices of shredded roast beef, sautéed onions, and Swiss cheese on one side of each tortilla.
  3. Roll up each tortilla tightly, securing with toothpicks if necessary.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat until hot but not smoking.
  5. Fry the roll-ups seam side down for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Slice the roll-ups into bite-sized pieces and serve warm with au jus for dipping.

Notes

For a spicy twist, add pepper jack cheese. Use gluten-free tortillas for gluten sensitivity.
