Chocolate Soufflé

Delicate and airy chocolate soufflé with a warm molten center, perfect for impressing guests.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz high-quality dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease four ramekins with butter and dust them with cocoa powder.
  3. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler until smooth.
  4. Whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the whipped egg whites along with the sugar and vanilla extract.
  6. Spoon the mixture into the prepared ramekins until about three-quarters full.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the soufflés are puffed and slightly cracked on top.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Soufflés are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat gently to restore texture.
