A luxurious and silky chocolate mousse that melts in your mouth, recreating a beloved family recipe.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs (at room temperature)

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate by placing it into a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Stir until smooth and allow to cool slightly.
  2. Whip the heavy cream in another bowl using a hand mixer or whisk until soft peaks form.
  3. Whisk together the eggs and granulated sugar in a separate bowl until pale and creamy.
  4. Fold in the melted chocolate into the egg mixture, combining without deflating the air.
  5. Incorporate the whipped cream by folding it in a few spoonfuls at a time.
  6. Spoon the mousse mixture into serving dishes, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Garnish with extra whipped cream or chocolate shavings before serving.
