Delightful banana split cupcakes with rich chocolate flavor and classic toppings.

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Sliced bananas
  • Whipped cream
  • Cherry on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Cream butter in a separate bowl until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and buttermilk. Add mashed banana and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner 2/3 full with batter.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cupcakes completely before frosting with chocolate frosting.
  9. Top each cupcake with sliced bananas, whipped cream, and a cherry on top.

Notes

Serve at parties or gatherings. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
