  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp pure mint extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease two round cake pans.
  2. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the whole milk and pure mint extract.
  6. Combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool the cakes in the pans for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
